Study time is crunch time, working up a sweat on your computer might require good energy and endurance! A simple snack might be the answer to a successful study session, staying energized, hunger free and focused isn’t as simple as it may seem; easy, hustle free and healthy snacks can help you throughout your study session or even longer .


Ensure that you choose foods that give you the utmost energy for the demanding study time.


Consume less sugar and less fatty foods. The aim is to stay energized for long without the feeling of hunger, avoiding foods with high sugar content will decrease the chances of getting an energy crash and avoiding foods with high fat content will ensure a longer timespan for studying so that you do not fall asleep of get tired too quickly!


Here are a few portable snacks you can take to the study desk:


● Mini cheese blocks (gouda cheese/cheddar cheese)

● Lightly salted mini crackers with a smear of cream cheese and a slice of cucumber/ shredded tuna

● Unsalted/unseasoned popcorn

● Sliced apples dunked in peanut butter/Nutella

● Tea/coffee/ water/ energy drinks

● A bowl of any assorted fruits

● A bowl of any assorted nuts and dried fruits

● Whole grain bread with a smear of avocado and salt for taste

● Granola bars

● Jungle-oat bars

● Wheat bars

● Celery or carrot slices dunked in cottage cheese

● Bowl of yogurt



Tips:


⮚ Avoid having too many snacks at your desk

⮚ Avoid any sort of sugary biscuit, chocolate bars, bubble gum or candy.

⮚ Energy supplements or drinks can also be used but they do not take away the feeling of hunger.

⮚ Ensure that your desk is neat and in order so that you have sufficient space around .

⮚ Be careful when drinking any liquids, use bottles or flasks instead of mugs.

⮚ Limit the quantity of your snacks, do not overfill your plates.

⮚ Portion out or cut pieces of bread or any other food into bite size pieces.

⮚ Don’t forget to wash your hands, avoid touching multiple surfaces after holding snacks with your hands.
